On Beauty

All these things have you said of beauty, yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unstatisfied, and beauty is not a need but an ecstasy. It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth, but rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted. It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear, but rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears. It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw, but rather a garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels forever in flight.

Beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.

这是纪伯伦(Gibran)的一篇散文诗节选,对美丽的透视抒情与彻悟。疯狂英语上载的,之前看过,但一直不是很懂,今天重看时,却深有点感触了。

 

MyLife:

生活,常常令我不明白,常常令我不知所措。命运选择人生,无法抗拒。弗洛伊德说“潜意识是人的本能从冲动、被压抑的欲望",于是我总是反反复复,深深地痛苦地折磨自己,不可控地。而这是为何了,真想知道“人该是怎样的为人”。

很想能寻找到一本“圣经”,它能指导我的行为准则;很想能找到一处“地方”,它能告诉我该是如何的人。

我想,人的一生,或多或少地在寻找如此这样的东西吧。
